Renowned Researcher from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Receives the State of Kuwait Foundation Award for Advanced Studies
Description: The esteemed State of Kuwait Prize, sponsored by the World Health Organization, has been bestowed upon a distinguished researcher at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. This year, Dr. Davoud Khalili, a distinguished professor and epidemiologist at the Endocrinology & Metabolism Research Institute of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, has been honored with this prestigious award. Dr. Khalili's noteworthy accolade highlights his exceptional contributions to the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, particularly focusing on cardiovascular diseases in the East Mediterranean region during 2023. Notably, this prize was previously awarded to Dr. Fereydoun Azizi, the Director of the aforementioned institute, in 2007. In his acceptance, Dr. Davoud Khalili made reference to the seventeen sustainable development goals established by the United Nations.
